Jason is a manager with Mellen, Smith
and Pivoz
with a concentration on tax issues. He is a full spectrum tax advisor who works with businesses of all sizes, from the small self-employed individuals to billion-dollar multi-state and multi-national corporations. He specializes in complex tax issues including financial and estate planning, transactional tax planning, import/export issues, tax accounting periods and methods, transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, inbound and outbound investments, and business combinations and reorganizations. He also has extensive experience with Sales and Use Taxes and the Michigan Business Tax as well as having assisted a myriad of clients with IRS audits and state tax controversies.
Jason joined the firm in 2007. His educational background includes a Master’s of Science in Taxation degree from Walsh College where he was also awarded the Charles M. Bauervic Foundation Writing Award, the Everett M. Hawley, Jr. Taxation Award, and the Stanley W. Smith Taxation Manuscript Award upon graduation.
